This study analyzes some recent developments in the national consumption model, discussing the extent to which material living conditions influence the degree of life satisfaction - knowing that, for over a decade, Romania has recorded the highest poverty rates in the European Union but also a particularly high level of life satisfaction of the population. The study proposes some social policies aimed at alleviating the particular difficulties in the lives of economically disadvantaged population categories. In the context, comments based on the author's calculations are presented, but also, are used for argumentation, data published by Eurostat, the National Institute of Statistics from Romania, FAO, the National Bank of Romania etc. Publication-Status: Published in "Journal of Community Positive Practices", 3 2025 File-URL: https://jppc.ro/index.php/jppc/article/download/997/489/1496 File-Format: Application/pdf File-Function: First version, 2025 Keywords: consumption model; life satisfaction; poverty; social inclusion Pages: 3-23 Issue: 3 Year: 2025 Number: 1257 Handle: RePEc:cta:jcppxx:1257 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: William R. Often, this bullying occurs at school, where many peer-to-peer social relationships are formed. However, familial-level variables may also play a role in children experiencing bullying. This study investigates the role of these familial level variables, specifically how they correlate with childhood bullying. 5th grade data from the United States Early Head Start Longitudinal Research Study was utilized for this manuscript. Familial level variables studied were externalizing behaviors, parental drinking, parental monitoring, and father-child relationship reported by the child. The outcome variable of this study was the amount of bullying 5th graders experienced. Results suggested that familial-level variables such as parental monitoring and the father-child relationship play a significant role in decreasing the likelihood of a child experiencing bullying in elementary school. Implications for practitioners such as social workers and opportunities for future research are discussed. The study combines theoretical and empirical approaches, integrating recent data (2020–2024) from national and international sources (INS, Eurostat, OECD, World Bank) with validated international theories such as the Family Stress Model (Conger & Elder, 1994), the Vulnerability–Stress–Adaptation Model (Karney & Bradbury, 1995), and the Structural Vulnerability Framework (Biswas & Nautiyal, 2023). The analysis highlights risk factors such as economic precariousness, parental stress, limited access to social services, and social stigma, while also emphasising resilience mechanisms and the potential role of community-based support. Based on both statistical evidence and theoretical models, the paper formulates policy recommendations aimed at reducing poverty and social exclusion among single mothers, expanding psycho-social support, and strengthening integrated social services. This article gives a rundown of the current social protection system in Bangladesh. It suggests specific legislative requirements that may be built and implemented to make life better for individuals with disabilities by increasing their participation in social protection programs. In light of these findings, it is clear that more comprehensive and inclusive social protection policies and programs are essential for the well-being of Bangladeshi adults with disabilities. People with disabilities did not demonstrate a higher propensity to enroll in social assistance programs, even though they should have. As part of their selection criteria for cash transfer programmers, Bangladesh's social protection system should consider including disability status. They should also think about introducing interventions that are unique to disabilities. While studies of informality have documented such practices as "workarounds" or "resistance," they often stop short of theorizing them as a coherent system of governance in their own right. This article intervenes by developing the framework of Parallel Governance: a robust, systematic, and morally legitimized mode of social ordering that functions as the primary site of social life. It argues that this system emerges in direct response to "projectocracy"- a mode of statecraft that governs through performative bureaucracy and the production of auditable fictions. Drawing on new ethnographic evidence of community-managed resources and cooperative labor in post-socialist Romania, the analysis provides a thick description of this system's infrastructures and its distinct moral economy. It further proposes a reflexive ethnographic methodology for studying a system that thrives on its own illegibility to the formal state. Ultimately, this framework repositions the study of community practice not as an afterthought to state failure, but as a central analytical task for understanding governance in the contemporary world. Ortega-Dela Cruz Title: Managing stress to promote resilience and productivity among future-oriented teachers and students in higher education Abstract: In the fast-paced and demanding landscape of higher education, managing stress is crucial for fostering resilience and promoting productivity among both teachers and students. As the education sector evolves to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world, it is essential to explore the implications of effectively managing stress on the future-oriented individuals in this setting. This qualitative study identified the types of stress, their causes, and symptoms that participants experience, and determined the common strategies they apply in managing their stress to promote resilience and productivity in life. Results revealed that their stress stems from work/academics, relationships, finances, and unknown/ uncertainties. By implementing some stress management strategies, such as time management and prioritization, stress reduction, creating supportive environments, strengthening spirituality, and seeking for God's guidance, teachers and students were able to manage stress effectively. Empowering teachers and students to manage stress effectively not only enhances their personal lives but also improves the quality of education and academic outcomes. With that, educational institutions ought to invest in stress management and resilience-building initiatives for it is also an investment in the future of higher education.
